Road Tripping the 928- Packing

Packing for a journey of any length is usually a bit of a challenge but more so if you are off mountain biking and snowboarding on the same trip. In a Porsche. That is 30 years old. And not a Cayenne.

We do actually have a roof box specifically bought for the 928, but there is one issue with it. It is limited to 75mph, and well you see, it is easy in a car with a top speed of 164 mph to , err , stray. So that broke. Next option which we have used before is to stick the bikes in the the car and the 928 is actually cavernous at the rear with the seats flat. So this is how you do it......

Step One: Disassemble bikes and pile everything next to the car .

Step two: Compare the pile of stuff piled on the pavement to the size of the car..... Ponder infinity.

Step three: Place the snowboards in flat. Place bike frames diagonally one way and then the other on the opposite diagonal.

Step Four: Take everything else you have neatly packed into bags out of the bags and stuff it behind the front seats, between the bikes and any other space available. Then stick the wheels on top, and hopefully you can still see out the back window, because you wouldn't want to miss the tailgaters expression as to floor it and leave them in a cloud of very expensive fumes.....
